"Change a Destiny" program launch in Braila county, Romania

Going to high school seems a normal step for many. But for children in remote Romanian villages, it's much harder. Long distance, cost for transport, accommodation, meals, and school supplies are very costly for most families.

In April, in partnership with Braila County School Inspectorate, we launched the "Change a Destiny" program in over 15 schools in rural areas. Our goal? Identifying deserving students who wish to continue their studies at high schools in the city and aspire for a brighter future for themselves and their families.

Considering recent statistics published in the "Report on the State of Pre-University Education" by the Ministry of Education, 14.6% of kids in rural areas drop out of school.

⚡ Why? Well, their families barely have enough money to get by each month. Some parents often don't encourage their kids to keep studying after the 8th grade. Also, many teenagers dream of making money on their own, even if it means leaving Romania for a job that doesn't need special skills.

With the support of Blue Projects company, starting from the 2024-2025 school year, we will be able to support several students by covering accommodation and meal costs, providing them with school supplies, counseling, personal development courses, and talent nurturing.

Our commitment is to accompany them throughout their high school journey to ensure the highest possible pass rate in the Baccalaureate exam and university admission.
